Hey, I am sorry this is so random but I actually came across your page when searching job corps and was wondering, what all you could tell me about it. I don't know if you could help me with a more specific question since I haven't been able to get a hold of any one yet, but I would really appreciate any advice you have at all. So I am 23 years and turn 24 in nov. do you think i have time to join? I have had CNA training but no state license. Do you think they would let me join LPN? Thank you!
My job corps doesn’t offer medical trades, so I can’t tell you anything in respect to that. But I think Job Corps is a good idea for anyone willing to go through the program. The only problem I really was adjusting to a structured schedule. I was in college before, so that was a stretch for me. I can’t guarantee that anything I tell you about center life is gonna be the same as the center you go to BC the rules and things are different at each center. But basically you’re gonna get your trade & when you finish, they’ll help you find a job. You’ll get a small paycheck every other week. I can’t think of exactly what else should tell you, but feel free to ask anything.
I know that the cut off age is 24 so you may wanna hurry up and contact the admissions counselor in your area.
So I was looking at Other Job Corps centers to see what other trades they offer. There’s one in San Jose that has Computer-Aided Drafting, trade that I’d love to have…
But the one in LA is in like THE BEST location. It’s in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, surrounded by the business, fashion, and jewelry districts. The center’s honor dorm is located in the midst of the Hollywood entertainment industry. (It has Drafting, so it wouldn’t be that bad of a choice…)
